Debbie Palmer (Customer) asked a question.
I have just been updated with the latest version of Leap and hate it. So many extra clicks on the mouse that it is giving me a sore wrist. It is more time consuming. As a Credit Controller having to go in and out all day to see what is owing make me want to throw the computer through the window.
Has anyone reverted back to the previous version?

Hi Debbie, I have a .exe file dated 10/06/2025 which is the old version, I uninstalled the new version and reinstalled the old one.
Would you happen to have the exact version number. I have just asked our IT guy
Kind regards,
Debbie Palmer

Hi Debbie
I have version 2.5.146.0_LEAPDesktopX64Setup.exe
Hi Debbie and Alison,
Please note that we do not recommend rolling back to a previous version as this can cause issues on your device and within LEAP. This change was made to support greater efficiency in how we deliver new features to your firm, it also lays the foundation for long-term improvements in performance, reliability, and innovation across LEAP. To assist in seamless work, we implemented the below options:
You can read more about this change here: https://community.leap.com.au/s/article/New-Release-LEAP-Productivity-and-LEAP-Accounting-AU.
Kind regards,
Sophia
With all of the complaints - why aren't they changing back to the older version with Productivity and Accounts on the one window. Maybe we wouldn't have to go to these lengths (of uninstalling and reinstalling an old version) if LEAP would take these comments on board. There may not be the number of likes per post required to consider a roll back, but if you added all the community post regarding this debacle and all their likes, It would have to top the chart as biggest issues since inception. This is my first post and i've been using LEAP for over ten years.
It doesn't matter if you can set a preference to open one or the other ... I need to switch from correspondence to accounting constantly with multiple matters opened. The new update is beyond inconvenient and increases my workload (and room for error with settlement figures) immeasurably. Please address this.
Hello Sophia,
With all due respect to your developers, there is nothing efficient about the changes.
I am shocked that this change made it past the R&D stage and question whether Leap actually engaged in testing by real clients. From the first few minutes of the new version I was frustrated, and that frustration has certainly not been abated by promises of long term improvements. 'Improvements' implies more efficiency, which this is not.
It is like going back in time to Leap10. There's a reason accounting and documents were combined in one program, and from memory combining the two was a huge selling point!
Hi Sophia
I appreciate it may support greater efficiency in how LEAP deliver new features to a firm etc but it doesn’t deliver greater efficiency to our firm or many others based on what has been posted here.
I know about setting the accounting as the default application however this offers little value for a number of users as most end up with both productivity and accounting open anyway, plus a time sheet. A lot of users need to view both productivity and accounting, if they are not doing accounting they still would be reviewing the financial summary tab as part of tracking where the matter is at financially. In my opinion, at the very least the financial summary should still be part of productivity.
If you send an invoice to word in the office accounting screen, obviously save it to the matter as word or pdf, the productivity screen still needs to open to email that invoice from the matter, so you have both open (or have to close one and open the other) regardless of what your default application is set to. How is that more efficient than doing it in the old version in ? If there is a way to do this in the new version without having to open both, please let me know.
If you are working on a laptop or single monitor, how is flicking between multiple screens more efficient than the old version where it was all on one screen ? Is there a way to set a combined view rather than 2 separate ones ?
Very well said Alison! I also rolled back to the previous version of Leap - there is nothing efficient about the new version at all and it has over complicated what was a very simple, straightforward matter layout. If LEAP don't want to revert to the old matter layout, can they at least give the consumer the Option to choose their preferred layout moving forward.
All users in our firm hate this new accounting window with a passion. It just compliates things with different windows and lead to more errors.
I don't think there will be any user say they like it. It is so slow and time consuming.
