LitigationMap brings the key information for a litigation matter into one interactive view, spend less time reorienting yourself across files and more time moving the matter forward. The Map organises parties, pleadings and evidence, while the Court Timetable helps you record, manage and diarise court orders.

Accessing LitigationMap

LitigationMap is available in all Litigation matter types. To open the app within a matter:

  1. Open any Litigation matter in LEAP.

  2. Click LitigationMap in the matter toolbar.

Features

  • Diarise court orders to Outlook and assign the people responsible for each order.

  • Track order status as upcoming, overdue or completed.

  • See the matter in one view with parties, pleadings, evidence and key document dates stored in the Map.

  • Preview documents in place with a short MatterAI summary for Word and PDF documents.

  • Stay in control of MatterAI suggestions - suggested documents and orders are not added until you approve them.

Court Timetable

Use the Court Timetable to diarise court orders directly to outlook, monitor due dates and completion.

Diarising Court Orders

Export to Outlook controls whether saved court orders are diarised to Outlook.

  1. Select the Settings cog in the top-right corner of LitigationMap.

  2. Turn on Export to Outlook.

  • How Outlook appointments are created: When Export to Outlook is on, every newly saved order creates an appointment in the LEAP calendar and Outlook. The user who saves the order is the organiser and each assignee is added as a required attendee.
  • Unable to Export Orders? If the Outlook appointment is not being created, firstly check Export to Outlook is enabled in LitigationMap, If Export to Outlook is greyed out, the Microsoft 365 Outlook Integration may not be enabled for your LEAP profile. See Enhanced Calendar Upgrade | LEAP Community for setup instructions, then reload LitigationMap.

Adding Court Orders

MatterAI can scan a source document in the matter correspondence to suggest court orders for your review.

  1. Select + Add > Suggest from document.

  2. Select the source document from the matter correspondence.

  3. Select Scan document.

  4. Review the suggested orders shown as dashed amber rows.

Amend the details as needed, including the due date and assignees.

  5. Accept/Reject suggestions individually or select Accept all.

  6. Select Save to add the accepted orders to the Court Timetable.

Add a Court Order Manually

  1. Select + Add > + Add order manually.

  2. Enter the order description, due date and assignee(s).

  3. Select Save.

Order Statuses

LitigationMap calculates the status of each order using the due date, the current date and whether the order has been marked complete.

StatusMeaning
UpcomingThe due date has not yet passed.
OverdueThe due date has passed, and the order is not marked complete.
CompletedThe order has been marked complete.

Edit a Court Order

Select the pencil icon on an order to edit it.

  • Changes made in LitigationMap update the corresponding Outlook and LEAP calendar appointment.
  • Changes made directly in Outlook or the LEAP calendar do not update the order in LitigationMap.

Click to edit heading

Make changes in LitigationMap to keep the order and calendar appointment aligned.

Mark an Order as Complete

Select the Complete checkbox when the order has been completed.

The status changes to Completed.

Click to edit heading

Marking an order as complete does not remove its Outlook or LEAP calendar appointment.

Move Older Orders to Previous Court Orders

Use Previous Court Orders to keep the current Court Timetable focused when a new set of court orders is received.

  1. Select the ellipsis (...) on the order.

  2. Select Move to Previous Court Orders.

Click to edit heading

Moving an order to Previous Court Orders keeps it accessible in LitigationMap and does not remove its Outlook or LEAP calendar appointment.

Delete a Court Order

  1. Select the ellipsis (...) on the order.

  2. Select Delete.

Click to edit heading

If the order was exported, deleting it from LitigationMap also removes the appointment from Outlook and the LEAP calendar.

Using The Map

The Map is a hierarchical view of the matter parties, with pleadings and evidence connected to each party. When LitigationMap is first opened on a matter, the Map is built automatically from the cards on that matter.

Parties

Parties are populated automatically from the cards on the LEAP matter. Editing a party imported from LEAP opens the corresponding card in LEAP.

To add a party that is not on the LEAP matter:

  1. Select + Add Party in the top-right corner.

  2. Enter the Party Name, Side and Role.

  3. Select Add Node.

Click to edit heading

A party added manually is created only in LitigationMap. It is not added as a card on the LEAP matter.

Document Cards

Each party has a document card with Pleadings and Evidence tabs. Documents can show Dated, Filed and Served dates.

Adding Documents

MatterAI scans the matter correspondence and suggests relevant documents for each party. When there is a change to the correspondence, MatterAI scans again to look for new suggestions.

Review the suggestions before adding them to the document card. You can add or dismiss suggestions individually, or use add all or dismiss all for the current set of suggestions.

Add a document manually

  1. Select the party document card, then select + Add pleading or + Add evidence.

  2. Choose a document from the matter correspondence.

Double-click the document or click once and press Select.

  3. To record document dates, select the pencil icon on the row and enter any applicable Dated, Filed and Served dates.

Preview a Document

Select the eye icon on a document row to preview the document without leaving LitigationMap. A short MatterAI summary is shown alongside the preview for supported documents.

Remove a Document Card

Select the document card and select Delete in the top-right corner. This removes the party's document card from LitigationMap only, it does not delete the documents from the LEAP matter.

Troubleshooting

Issue

What to do

Export to Outlook is greyed out

Your Microsoft 365 Outlook Integration may not be enabled for your LEAP user. Complete the Enhanced Calendar Upgrade steps, then reload LitigationMap.

An order saved, but nothing appeared in Outlook

Check Export to Outlook is on. Orders saved while it was off are not exported retrospectively. Re-create the order after turning Export to Outlook on.

A red exclamation mark appears on an order in the timetable

That order did not correctly reach Outlook, Click the exclamation to send it again.

The order shows Outlook out of date

Your last edit did not reach the calendar. Use the retry strip to send it again

Some assignees cannot be invited

One of the assignees you chose has no email address in LEAP. Add one to their profile or save anyway.

A completed or previous order is still in Outlook

Completing an order or moving it to Previous Court Orders leaves the appointment in Outlook and the LEAP calendar. Delete the order from LitigationMap if the appointment also needs to be removed from Outlook.

MatterAI found fewer orders than the document contains

Orders without a clear compliance date are skipped by MatterAI on purpose. Add those manually.
