How to Manually Update the Matter Number

How To

To manually change the Matter Number, follow these steps. This can be used if a matter number has been skipped.

Navigate to LEAP Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Matters > Numbering
Take note of the 'Last Number', then turn off Auto Numbering and click Save.
Open the matter you want to update.

Click Matter Details to open the Matter Details window.

Enter the new Matter Number, click OK.

Save and close the matter.
Return to LEAP Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Matters > Numbering

Turn Auto Numbering back on.

Make sure to correctly fill out the 'Last Number' section.

Click Save.
In order to prevent issues from occurring with your matter numbers, please Add LEAP to Your Antivirus Exceptions List.

Matter numbers must be unique and cannot be reused, even if the associated matter has been deleted.
