Learn how to monitor and assign the status of your matters based on matter type and completion stage for effective tracking. Easily view and update statuses, ensuring accurate monitoring of your matters.

List of Matter Statuses

 
Status
Description
?? (Status)Indicates the passed date of a specific status.
For example, a status of ?? (Exchanged) lets you know that the date of the property exchange has passed but it hasn't been confirmed in your Calendar & Tasks tab.
ArchivedThe matter has been archived.
BlankThere is not enough information in the matter for a status to be assigned.
CompleteThe matter is complete.
Exchanged / Unexchanged / Cooling Off / Settled / Contract Dated / ConditionalRelates to the specific stages of a conveyancing matter.
In ProgressThe matter is still in progress.
Not ProceedingThe matter is not going ahead.

Change Status of a Matter

 

Follow these steps to change the status of a matter:

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Click the Calendar & Tasks tab.

  3. For a particular listed event, tick the checkbox next to the scheduled date.

    • To Mark as Complete: Add a completion or settlement date. This will change the status to Complete Matter (or similar, depending on the matter type).
    • To Mark as Not Proceeding: Set a "Not Proceeding" date to change the status to Not Proceeding.
    • To Return to Progress: Clear critical dates (such as completion or settlement dates) or other related calendar items to update the matter status back to In Progress.

  4. Click Save & Close.

    Matter status cannot be customised. It is automatically updated based on data from Calendar and Task items. 

Close a Matter

 

Follow these steps to close a matter (file) :

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Click the Calendar & Tasks tab.

  3. Select the date next to Completion date.

    The status updates to 'Complete' to reflect the stage of completion of the matter.

    If 'Not Proceeding' this critical date can also be completed.

  4. Click Save & Close.

  5. You can also archive a matter. For detailed instructions, refer to Archiving a Matter.

Change Status of a Matter

 

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Click the Calendar & Tasks tab.

  3. Click a Critical Date under Scheduled.

  4. Toggle Confirm to On.

    The status updates to reflect the stage of completion of the matter.

  5. Click Close.

  2. Swipe to or tap the Schedule tab.

  3. Tap between Scheduled or Unscheduled.

  4. Tap a Critical Date.

  5. Enter (or change) a date for the item.

  6. Toggle Confirm to On or Off.

  7. Tap Save.
