How To

Location: LEAP Menu > Reports > Matter & Client > Stamp Duty Due

Purpose: Provides a list of matters where stamp duty is due and unpaid. It helps track compliance with payment deadlines and ensures no overdue payments are missed.

Report Trigger:

Whether a matter has an outstanding Stamp Duty is solely determined by the relevant details entered in the Conveyancing Details (under the 'Transfer Duty & Fees' tab) on the matter table. Typically, a matter will be included in this report if it meets all of the following conditions:

1. 'Date Stamp Duty Due' is populated: A due date must be provided to determine whether the payment is late or upcoming.

2. 'Stamp Duty has been paid' (checkbox) is unchecked: If the checkbox is unchecked, it means the stamp duty is still outstanding, so the matter is eligible for inclusion in the report.

3. 'Date Stamp Duty Paid' is empty: If the payment has not been made (no date entered), the matter remains outstanding.

However, the report will include a matter if the 'Date Stamp Duty Paid' field is populated but the date entered is a future date.

Report Filters:

Date Range

Displays matters containing a Stamp Duty Due Date within the selected date range.

NOTE: Stamp Duty Due Date is based on the date provided in the Conveyancing Details (under the 'Transfer Duty & Fees' tab) on the matter table.

Staff

Includes three staff-related filters to narrow down matters:

Inc. Inactive Staff: Provides an option to either include or exclude Inactive Staff Members from the lists of 'Staff Responsible' and 'Staff Acting'.

NOTE:

A Staff member is considered Inactive if their Current Staff Member option is togged off under the Access & Permissions in the Staff Details window (Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Firm > Staff > Members).

The staff lists dynamically update based on the 'Include Inactive Staff' option setting.

Staff Responsible: Filters results to include only matters where the selected staff member(s) are assigned as the Person Responsible. All staff members are included by default.
Staff Acting: Filters results to include only matters where the selected staff member(s) are assigned as the Person Acting. All staff members are included by default.

Group By

Group the report by:

None: No grouping is applied (default).
Staff Responsible
Staff Acting

Report Fields:

Matter No.	The matter number.
Client	The matter's client.
Matter Type	The matter's type.
Property	The matter's property address, as set in the 'Property' card on the matter table.
Resp.	The Person Responsible on the matter.
Act.	The Person Acting on the matter.
Stamp Duty Due	Stamp duty date, set in the matter's 'Conveyancing Details' card on the matter table.
