Sending Correspondence to Multiple Clients at the One Address

Extra people are normally added to one card, so that letters relating to a matter, can be sent to only one address. This causes problems when creating documents in LEAP as allowances are made for only one person to be on a card (except for conveyancing matters where two people may be added to the one card).

Instead of adding multiple people to one card in any matter type, it's better to include a Client correspondence data table type in a matter. This will allow you to write to all of your clients at the one address. If it isn't already part of an existing matter, it can be added. See Editing data table types for more info. Otherwise, it's automatically included in any new matters that you create.

Open a matter.
Make sure that you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.
Include the Client correspondence data table type, if necessary. See Editing data table types for more information.
Double-click on Client correspondence in the Matter details to open the Client Correspondence window.

All the postal addresses of each client card for the matter are listed.
Choose the address where you wish to write to all of your clients and click the adjacent empty text box and select Yes from the list.

The selected address is used when you create a letter or correspondence for all your clients associated with the matter.
Click OK.

The selected address is displayed next to Client correspondence for the Matter details.
Click New Document on the toolbar to create a letter for all the clients associated with the matter.
Select the recipient from the list and click Create.

The letter will be sent to all the clients associated with the matter at the address you selected for the Client correspondence.

Click to edit heading

If you then wish to write to each individual client at their own address, go back to Step 5 and deselect No for Client correspondence.
