Many users and IT professionals regularly optimise computer storage by deleting old or unnecessary files. Windows often generates temporary files, and there are various Microsoft and third-party tools and guides available online to assist with this maintenance.
The following steps will help you identify and safely remove excess LEAP files and folders. This will reduce the disk space usage of LEAP, keeping your computer clean and running efficiently.
Clearing Old Folders
If LEAP has been installed on your computer for a long time and has undergone multiple updates, some older files may remain. Often, LEAP helpdesk staff back up LEAP-related folders during issue investigations, and many of these backup files can be safely removed.
Note: Only delete folders with custom or modified names. Do not remove the valid, active folders. Examples of modified folders include those with names appended with '.old', '.bak', or '- Copy'. For instance, you might see a folder named LEAP Desktop.old.
