How To

Antivirus software and firewall solutions have an aggressive approach to protecting your computer. Sometimes they can block harmless files due to the file’s name, size, data or actions. This may result in unexpected issues for you.

You can avoid such issues with LEAP by adding the following folders and/or files to your antivirus exceptions list and firewall.

If you are unsure about adding exceptions to your antivirus product or firewall, please contact your IT consultant or your antivirus software provider for assistance.

Some of the Antivirus exceptions differ between LEAP 2.5 and 2.6. To check your version, go to LEAP Menu > About > Version, then refer to the exceptions list for that version.

Add the following folders to your antivirus exceptions list:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\LEAP Desktop\*
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Microsoft_Corporation\LEAPOffice*
NOTE: the wild card * is important as there are three different LEAP related folders.
C:\Program Files\LEAP Office\*
C:\Program Files\LEAP Accounting\*
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\*
C:\ProgramData\LEAP Office\*
C:\ProgramData\LEAP Accounting\*
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\LEAP Accounting
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\LEAP Desktop
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\LEAPCalc\*

If you are using an antivirus or firewall software that is unable to use “wildcards” or requires additional specified application paths, the eight files below should be added to your antivirus and or firewall exceptions list:

C:\Program Files\LEAP Office\Cloud\LEAP Desktop.exe
C:\ProgramData\LEAP Office\Cloud\Net Client\LeapOfficeXE.NetClient.exe (LEAP 2.5 users)
C:\Program Files\LEAP Office\Net Client\LeapOfficeXE.NetClient.exe (LEAP 2.6 users)
C:\ProgramData\LEAP Office\Cloud\Extras\LeaPDF\LeaPDF.exe
C:\ProgramData\LEAP Office\Cloud\Extras\LEAPPrint\LEAPPrint.exe (LEAP 2.5 users)
C:\Program Files\LEAP Office\LEAPPrint\LEAPPrint.exe (LEAP 2.6 users)
C:\ProgramData\LEAP Office\Cloud\LEAPCalc\leap-calc.exe
C:\Program Files\LEAP Accounting\Cloud\LEAP Accounting.exe

Firewall and Antivirus Configuration

If your antivirus or firewall uses web-based exceptions, add the following domains to the allow list to ensure LEAP runs smoothly:

*.leap.com.au
*.leapaws.com.au
*.leap.services
*.leap.build
*.cortoaws.com
*.leapglobalresearch.com

If you use multiple security products, make sure each one includes these exceptions.

AWS Hosting

LEAP is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), which uses dynamic IP addresses across multiple data centres. Because these IPs change automatically, it’s not possible to whitelist LEAP by IP address.

Allowing the above wildcard domains ensures uninterrupted and secure access to LEAP services, in line with AWS best practices and LEAP’s Information Security Policy.
