‘Content’ refers to everything that you see and use in LEAP - from the way matters are set out to fields, cards, automated forms, precedents, legal rates and charges and even Client Intake forms.

Understanding the difference between what in LEAP is 'Product' and what is 'Content' can sometimes be difficult.

When we talk about Content, most think this is just the forms and precedents that LEAP provides, and that the rest of LEAP is all designed and distributed by developers, but content is a lot more than that.

Without content, clients would not be able to create matters in LEAP!

It is therefore important to know the difference between the two, because whilst the LEAP product runs on release cycles for fixes, new features and enhancements, Content is something that can be distributed easily once it has been created or modified.

The LEAP Content Development Team are responsible for the creation and maintenance of the content within LEAP.

Matter Types

When you create a new matter in LEAP, everything starting from the list containing the areas of law through to the selection of different tables that makes up each matter type, is all designed and delivered by the Content Development Team.

Tables - Cards & Layouts

Tables

Every matter in LEAP has a set of tables that will appear which are specific to that particular matter type. They are all created and structured into the matter type by the Content Development Team.

There are two types of tables that appear in your matter, Cards and Layouts:

Cards

A Card table requires a user to enter information about a party on a matter.

Layouts

Layouts (data entry tables) are all in the control of the Content Development Team. A Layout consists of a table with a name and all of the fields and calculations that relate to that table.

The Content Development Team create all of the fields and calculations that appear on each Layout. These Layouts enable you to enter relevant information in a matter.

Fields, Content Controls and Calculations

When you look at your matter and layouts, all of the fields that are being requested for you to fill out are all created by the Content Development Team. This also applies to any document that is created through LEAP.

The team also creates calculations for the data you have entered in the matter (eg. calculate the sum of stamp duty payable or totalling the amounts in a Financial Statement).

When you create a document, it will be automated using fields, content controls and calculations, so it is doing a lot more behind the scenes than you think.

LEAP for Word

The LEAP for Word add-in makes it easier than ever to automate forms from directly within a document.

Forms using the LEAP for Word add-in are managed by the LEAP Content Development Team. These documents are supported by using an Add-in via Word called LEAP for Word.

When opening a form that is supported, you will be presented with a side panel which contains a series of questions or requests for information that will populate to that document.

Forms

All of the Forms that do not require legal judgment are created and maintained by the Content Development Team. These Forms are kept up to date and reviewed regularly.

These Forms are formatted and then coded with fields and content controls from LEAP. The information and relevant data that is entered in the LEAP matter (cards and layouts) is automated within the Form.

Legal Rates

Within LEAP, we provide quick access to legal rates across a variety of different areas of law (from courts and government departments).

These legal rates are maintained by the Content Development Team.

Quick Calculator

The Quick Calculator enable you to do a quick calculation within LEAP and are maintained by the Content Development Team.

Client Intake Forms

Client Intake Forms are online forms specifically designed for your client to conveniently fill out prior to visiting your firm.

This will help your firm reduce costly non-billable administration time and streamline time-consuming tasks.

Once details are entered by your client, the information entered seamlessly imports directly into LEAP as a new matter.
