Here you will find a list of WA frequently asked Content questions with answers.

How Do I Add More than One Child to a Matter?

 

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Right-click on Child and choose New Child.

  3. Enter the details of the second Child in the Card.

  4. When you are done, click Save & Close.

  5. Repeat this process for any further children.

  6. Your matter should now list the children as Child 1, Child 2, etc.

  7. You will now need to enter the Child details for each Child.

If second, third and etc Child's details has previously been entered, the option Add Child from Card List or Add Child from Recent Cards can be selected instead.

How Do I Enter My Parties on the Matter? Can They Be on the One Card?

 

The coding in LEAP does not allow for two people to be entered on one card, except for Conveyancing & Property Matter Types.

In this example, we will use a Property/Financial Settlement matter type, where the legal representative is acting for two Applicants.

  1. Enter your first client as the Applicant when setting up the matter.

  2. Once your matter has been created, right-click on the Applicant and choose:

    • New Applicant (if there is no existing Card for this person in LEAP) and enter their details into a new Card. When you are done, click Save & Close; or
    • Add Applicant from Card List / Add Applicant from Recent Cards (if you have an existing Card for this person in LEAP).

  3. Your matter will now have Applicant 1 and Applicant 2.

How Do I Get My Family Law Documents to Merge Correctly?

 

Most of the coding done in our LEAP Family Law precedents utilises information from the Critical fam law details table layout in your matter.

To ensure that the Family Law documents merge correctly, information must be completed correctly and completely in this table.

  1. Double-click on Critical fam law details to open the layout.

  2. Enter the details into the layout and click OK.

    The details you enter into this layout will be merged into most documents, which is why they are labelled Critical.

Within the Critical fam law details layout:

  • Acting on behalf of the is required to ensure court documents merge indicating who you act for correctly.
  • Where are these proceedings being heard? is where the Court is chosen to merge into your documents (not the Court card on your matter).

How Do I Calculate the Stamp Duty?

 

Enter the following details in the relevant Purchase or Sale matter:

Calendar & Tasks tab of your matter:

  • Contract Date
  • Adjustment Date
  • Settlement Date

Ensure all relevant details are entered in the Conveyancing Details table, particularly the Purchase Price field.

In a Sale matter, the Conveyancing Details table layout also contains the Settlement Agent Fees tab - this tab will calculate Settlement Agent Fees as applicable.
