FED | Independent Children's Lawyer and Mediation Matter Type Removal

LEAP have improved Family Law matter types by adding the roles of mediator and Independent Children’s Lawyer within matters.
As a result, the Independent Children’s lawyer and Mediation matter types in LEAP will be removed from 1 October 2025. This will not affect your existing matters.

2. How to Complete a Family Law Matter
If you currently have any custom precedents in these matter types, they will display as "orphan precedents" on 1 October and will not be associated to any particular matter type. Your custom precedents will not be deleted due to the relocation or removal of matter types, they will simply require reassigning to the new relevant matter type/location. Please see How to Restore Orphan Precedents on the steps to reassign your custom precedents.
