QLD - Transfer duty discrepancy
In matters with a consideration greater than $980,000, if you compare LEAP's stamp duty figure with the OSR calculator you'll notice a discrepancy. This could be anything from $5 to $150+.
We've contacted the OSR, who acknowledge that there may be a problem with their calculator. However, it's also possible that the calculator is correct, and the problem is with the figures provided by the OSR in their sliding scale for home concession.
Until this issue is resolved we recommend that for a consideration over $980,000 you contact the OSR directly to ascertain the amount of transfer duty payable.
