Problems with Time&Fee entries since update

Since the update the Time&Fees pages is not working correctly.

When you open it up the entries are now reflecting from newest to oldest.

This in itself is not a problem as you can sort the Date column to reflect “oldest to newest” entries (as it was until this update).

However, when you are working on entries after you save a change it reverts to “newest to oldest” and you have to search to find your place again.

When you are dealing with a big matter with pages of time entries that need to be checked and updated this is confusing, takes time and leaves room for mistakes.

How can this be fixed?

    Hi Elsie,

Thanks for your feedback. This change to the ordering of Time & Fees was made off the back of large amounts of client feedback. We've taken on board the requests from some users to have the order set back to oldest to newest, and a future version will have you be able to save your preference for which order to use.

Thanks for your patience whilst we work on this.

    • Hi Simon,

Thank you for your response to this question.

I note from the update the entries now appear “newest to oldest” (which is fine), however when you are entering multiple entries for the same date and matter, the entries do not follow the “newest to oldest” order and end up getting jumbled up, which makes it very difficult to follow what has and has not been entered if you are jumping between matters. Is this something that Leap is aware of? How can this be fixed?

I agree and I experienced this yesterday too. Thought it was something I had done!

Hoping this update appears sooner rather than later as this change is extremely annoying and the constant need to switch it back after each entry is time consuming. An option for what way you want it to be should have been considered as the first change!

absolutely ridiculous !! how can customers be requesting that dates be upside down ??? where is the logic in that??? and I have also noticed that when you put the dates back into order, (or you make a change to an entry in general) they are also being put into alphabetical order which makes it very difficult for me to know which entry I need to change when a lot of them are the same entry on the same day ! This is not working for our firm and has resulted in a lot of wasted time and a backlog in the costing of our files - this needs to be fixed asap !!

      Hi Simon,

Is there a reason why four months have passed and this is still an issue? Four months feels like long enough to have been 'patient' waiting for this to be resolved.

I personally do not care if it is ordered 'oldest to newest' or 'newest to oldest'. My issue is that the ordering is not consistent, the records within each day are are not in chronological order.

So not only is this Times & Fees update seemingly unwanted by many people, it broke Times & Fees in a way that you seem uninterested in addressing. It is so poorly implemented that I can't imagine the people that did want this being satisfied with this inconsistent mess.

I had hoped that this could be either reverted or fixed in a reasonable time frame, but it has been four months. So instead I'll simply hope something is done as soon as possible.

Agree with the above - ridiculous that dates now record from newest to oldest. Would love to know how many clients requested this and for what reason. Never seen anything like that before.

Please rectify or give us an option to save it as oldest to newest as soon as possible.

  • Lisa Di Bella (Customer)

Agree with the above. Why can't it simply be changed back to order by Time/Fee No. order and not date order? Billing has become a nightmare if there are multiple changes needed to be made because what is printed on the Pre-Billing Guide is not in the same order as what you see on the screen! Date order from newest to oldest is extremely problematic if there are multiple entries on the same date that need amending.
