If a cost recovery has been created on the wrong matter, you can simply open up the cost recovery in the incorrect matter by double-clicking it. Once it is opened, there is a little icon next to the matter number that allows you to select the correct matter number from a list.
If you have already billed the cost recovery, you would need to reverse the invoice which the cost recovery is on, and then carry out the above steps.
