Carrie Lee (Customer) asked a question.
Did any test anything before this update? It's been 2 days only and my firm has already encountered the below problems so far:
- When we tried to convert a document to PDF by right clicking on the file and choosing convert to PDF, as long as the name has a symbol on it it just does not work and force you to remove all symbols;
- Contacts/email addresses do not show when you try to create a new email - if I have to manually write the email, why did I fill out the details in the file for?
- Generating invoices - when I generate an invoice and try to "rename and close", the box that pops up a) already has a preset name assigned to it, b) this preset name does not go away when you click on it like it used to, c) you have to select the entire preset name to erase it (just so that you can rename it to your own name format), even triple clicking anywhere will not highlight the whole name (just that particular word), and d) hitting ENTER on your keyboard does not trigger saving the file, I needed to use the mouse to click ok;
- when i save an email in Outlook to Leap, the search function does not search matter description anymore. The ENTER key also does not work and I have to physically move the mouse to click ok;
- cannot right click attachment of an existing email and select "share email original/pdf" to send a new email anymore, it just simply does not work.
how can an updated version with so many changes that actually make things worse? when will they be fixed??

Totally agree this update is a waste of time and effort for all. I have advised half of our office to not upgrade so that we can find things. Carrie have you received a response from LEAP?? This is not good customer service LEAP.
I also advised the office NOT to update. This is the response I received from Leap. Hope it helps.... (Uninstall update)
We note that many of our clients have experienced similar issues, and would like to give you the opportunity to roll back to the previous version of LEAP, 2.1.252.0.
In order to revert to the previous version, you will first need to uninstall the current version of LEAP, which can be done through the following steps:
1. Close out of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.)
2. On the keyboard, press the Windows icon and the letter R at the same time
3. Type appwiz.cpl and hit OK
4. Locate LEAP in the window that opens
5. Right click and select Uninstall
6. Follow all prompts from there
Once you have completed this, please install LEAP from the following webpage:

Yes we are having all of the above issues. Friday I needed urgent assistance with an Section32 that could be signed electronically that wouldn't seen as it wouldn't identify the email on the card (which was correct.) I tried the support online chat which didn't result in anything after 10 minutes and via email which then took three hours and was responded to at 7.10pm Friday night. It's not good enough not having support there when you need it, especially after an update with so many issues arising.
My firm is having massive problems. Trying to get hold of Leap has been a nightmare. In some cases we have had to get our IT people to reinstall the earlier version as nothing else would get the program working. For those that it working for the whole thing is now sooooo SLOW.
Also when trying to group items on an Invoice, the new box opens so low you can't type into it.
Agree with all of this! Also, when saving emails to LEAP folders, when you expand a folder, the "okay" key falls down to far and there is now way to press it so you have to drop and drag or save to the matter then enter the matter to save to the correct folder. We have also experienced emails saving to the wrong matter even though they were created in the correct matter. Another issue is when searching for an existing matter or client, it simply doesn't work. So many issues. LEAP, when will these be fixed?
Yesterday we run the update they have released to fix the issues and a lot of issues have been fixed through that, so if you haven't run the 'fixing' update do that and then reassess what's not working, or is still an issue.
Totally agree with this comment. The release to fix the issues has not fixed a lot of the problems. I tried to contact support through Livechat yesterday and waited so long I gave up and sent an email to support. I am still waiting for a response. I also emailed our Client success manager and have not heard back. I find it remarkable that there is no benefit in these updates and they make the system worse and less user friendly. The updates over the past 12 months have made the system worse. There seems to be no consultation with their customers as to whether a change should be made before they are implemented. One of the worst changes Leap has made is to change the search function for safe custody packets so that you can no longer search by surname or packet number and have to search through a client's card which takes much longer and sometimes does not work. This is one of so many issues we have been having. Running a small legal practice is challenging enough without Leap making it harder. Please stop updating your system as it is making the system worse. It would be really great if someone in support could respond to my email from yesterday.
We are having so many issues.
I could forgive if I thought it was computer and was a bit old but I have a brand new computer so things that I thought would be fixed by updating are still there.
Amy,
Yes we're having many of the same issues. I thought I was going crazy when documents were then saving on the next file I opened. Glad it wasn't just me.
Also finding invoices aren't generating names of the debtor so have to close, deleted and regenerate every invoice.
